PROPERTIES

     «Ural» carbon fibers have several features caused first of all by properties of initial raw material - rayon industrial yarn:
     Enhanced elasticity, Tunable electric resistance in a range from 10-3 up to 107 Ohm·cm, High sorption capacity of the activated fiber. Both graphitized and activated carbon fibers are biocompatible (versus PAN and pitch based ones).

APPLICATION

     Application areas of carbon fibers constantly extend. Perhaps, since the moment when 50 years ago the first carbon fiber lot was produced, there is no any other type of a chemical fiber, which was used in so many kinds of application. Depending on fiber properties there are 7 basic ways to use carbon fiber:

  1. Heat-resistance and low thermal conduction
  2. Mechanical properties (including tribological and antifriction ones)
  3. High sorption capacity
  4. Electrical properties of carbon fiber
  5. Biocompatibility
  6. Chemical resistance
  7. EMI (electro magnetic induction) shielding
